Under the Buck Moon

I’ve been talking about (re)encountering the past and revisiting past selves. This happens for all of us as we move through various life and career changes. Coming back to a hometown, encountering a past love, getting a job offer, or relaunching an independent offering.

I used to think these were tests. God trying to see if I really want what I’ve asked for.

We are not being tested. We are being asked to choose.

Not in the way of right or wrong but making the choice to experience something or not. And what's powerful about encountering these choices that feel old (or new) is that there is a version of us that chooses each one. A version of us that stays. A version that chooses a new role. A version that takes the risk. A version that lives spaciously. A version that lives abundantly.

Knowing those versions are out there, and they are real, has been giving me a lot of hope and energy for moving through my own personal growth and transformation. At the same time, it’s been overwhelming to consider hundreds if not thousands of Leslies walking different paths.

I’ve of course turned to content to try to make sense of this. My nephew assigned me the homework of catching up on Marvel films in anticipation of the new releases. And some of the more recent films have included a whole lot about these multiple selves, quantum realms, and reliving the future. I won’t even try to recount the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and watching these films with 4 different versions of Spiderman has me wondering what I would do if I could encounter versions of myself in the same way.

There’s also a growing conversation online about quantum theory. So much so that I’ve added another layer to my H2 curriculum to try to make sense of it and how it fits into Rooted Reclamation (more on this later). From what I’ve digested so far, there are practices and tools that will help you tune in to the frequency of the version you most want to experience now. As an example, income has slowed to a crawl for you now, and you recall that there is a version of you where income is flowing quickly and abundantly. Like switching lanes on the interstate, you can send a signal and turn the wheel to direct you into the version of you where abundance and income flows easily. It can get quite heady, but I don’t think it’s too dissimilar from the work of visioning, scripting, and dreaming that I’m constantly reminding clients of. Spend as much if not more energy with the outcome you most want and watch the universe conspire to meet you.

Whether it’s Marvel multiverse, or metaphysics, or meditation, we are all encountering these multiple universes and versions of our selves. Most of us have begun to sense this more deeply. It’s the random urge to quit your job after another draining week. It’s the inkling you have to add an umbrella to your purse. It’s ‘I’m not sure how that worked out but I did’ moments that seem to be finding us more often. Something is shifting to allow us to notice a little more.

Y’all know I’ve been in my astrology bag to support my own journey and understandings. Honestly it’s the whole I’m dropping this essay, to share in the hopes that it helps your journey too.

  • Today is the Full Moon in Aquarius. The Buck Moon, named for the time of year when deer begin growing their antlers, is offering us an auspicious beginning. Unlike other full moons, we're being given a chance to manifest alongside release, and to plant seeds for the version of us that lives under a paradigm of collective power and wisdom. It is asking us to question old patterns, let go of old identities and beliefs, and plant new seeds of self.

  • Jupiter is also in Leo, alongside the Sun (Jupiter-Sun Cazimi) gives us the signature of expansion and self-expression. Jupiter brings us luck, abundance, and wisdom. Alongside Leo we are being asked to consider how we are being called to integrate our internal self with the external self?

  • Eclipse season is already here! Eclipses are heightened energetic moments that help illuminate and disrupt what no longer belongs. On August 12, 2026 there is a solar eclipse in Leo. Leo is all about self-expression. And this particular eclipse is asking us: where have you been shrinking, silencing, playing small, and for whom or to what end?

It’s a lot to sit with. And every week it feels like some monumental, transformational wave is pushing us to consider a different version of ourselves. I’ve been moving 100 mph over the last 2 months, wanting to feel into, experiment with these different versions I’m encountering. The one who lives in New York for the summer. The one who spends more time with family. The one who’s more consistent with posting (lol). And the one who leads a creative, meaningful, and abundant practice.

Spending time in stillness and slowing down helps us notice the choice and support we are being offered to bring us into deeper alignment with the life we say we want. The importance of prayer, meditation, spell casting or whatever practices support you in slowing down and hearing from yourself. Simply naming what it is that you want is more important now than ever. If for nothing more than to keep track of how you're building what you want. I used this scripting exercise to work with some of these energies, especially as I’m working through what I hope will be the last of big transitions, and transformations, and shedding past versions of myself to embody a new one.

When you come to this crossroad, the big choice in your own journey, what will you do? Do you have the support, community, and resources around you to support the choice that's in alignment with the life you say you want?

If you’re ready, I’m here to ride the wave with you. My coaching calendar is open, and I’m hosting Rooted & Rising again just in time for the Leo eclipse. I’m looking forward to being on the journey with you.
