Stepping Into the Light: A SOLO Journey Toward Visibility
The key to alignment is visibility—allowing ourselves to be witnessed in all of who we are. For so long, I thought I could compartmentalize myself into versions that would be safe and acceptable. Eventually, my body, my spirit, and my work refused. The only option left was to live out loud, in my full truth.
Preparing for a Season Loneliness
I know some seasons feel more lonely than others. I know we often outgrow places that once felt like home. And even knowing that solitude has purpose, it’s been hard to stay grounded and keep the momentum needed to transition from sabbatical into something sustainable. So here’s how I’ve been preparing.
What More Magic Do I Deserve?
When I arrived in Mexico City, I was met with a familiar symphony: the hum of Spanish conversations, the warmth of the sun filtering through my window, the scents of street food vendors, the buzz of the city: the promise of the dream I’d once dream to live a spacious life guided by community and creativity.
Meaningful Work
For a second, good news doesn’t feel so good when you can’t share it with the someone you want to share it with the most. Sharing reflection on what would have been my dad’s 73rd birthday. My dad has inspired so much of my quest for purpose and impact in my career. What does it mean that I am stepping into my dream job and realizing my winding journey is all connected.
Black Woman, Interrupted
I’ve been trying to wade through the deep sea of interruptions, the toll I pay economically, socially, spiritually, mentally, and generationally to be a proud Black woman.
